Community Road Repairs- Dec 7th-11th
Posted on Dec 4th, 2020

Community Road Repairs- Dec 7th-11th!
To all Waterstone Community Residents:

Due to liability issues recently brought to our attention by Mike Sabatini, Road Maintenance Supervisor at York County Government, several road repairs will be occurring during week of December 7th-December 11th which may impact the flow of traffic throughout our community.

After speaking with Mr. Sabatini, many of the existing crosswalks are incorrectly placed and need to be removed. Crosswalks should not end or begin at a curb or driveway; which many in our community do. After discussing removal options with several 3rd party vendors, the quickest and most cost effective removal option is to paint over them with color matching highway paint. In addition to the removal of the impacted crosswalks, all stop lines and other crosswalks that comply with county regulations will be repainted due to fading. While these necessary repairs are taking place half of the street will be closed or blocked off which could affect the flow of traffic in some areas. We ask that you please use caution and be courteous when driving near equipment and workers.

In addition to the crosswalks and stop lines, we’ll also be re-striping/refreshing the community pool parking spaces on Thursday, December 10th, 2020. All vehicles must be moved from the pool parking lot by 9am on Thursday December 10th, 2020 and vehicles can return after 4pm that same day. Vehicles that aren’t moved by 9am will be towed at the owners expense! Signs will be placed at the entrance of the pool reminding residents of the upcoming work. Please note, due to vehicles having to be relocated, on street parking in the townhomes will be allowed from 9am-4pm on December 10th.

Last but not least, we’ll be re-striping the visitor parking spaces located on Royal Auburn Ave between Smokey Quartz and Kashmir White on Wednesday, December 9th to add an additional visitor parking space! After receiving feedback from residents about the loss of a visitor parking space at the annual meeting, we discovered that following the Townhome repaving work completed over 2 years ago, the visitor parking spaces were repainted using increased lengths (22ft vs 20ft). The unnecessary additional length caused the loss of the 7th parking space, leaving only 6. Since similar repainting efforts were already occurring throughout our community, repainting the lines to add an additional visitor parking space is a quick, easy, fix.

Should you, your tenants or guests use any of the visitor parking spaces on Royal Auburn, please plan on having your vehicle moved no later than 9am on December 9th. Vehicles that aren’t moved will be towed at the owners expense! Signs will be placed near the parking spaces reminding residents of the upcoming work and vehicles will be able to return after 4pm. Please note, due to vehicles having to be relocated, on street parking in the townhomes will be allowed from 9am-4pm on December 9th.
